Julie Wylie

Julie Wylie is a welcoming and inspiring movement facilitator whose passion is fostering communities of humans lifting one another higher.

Her more than 40 years of somatic education and teaching experience in a variety of health and well-being modalities includes facilitating concept embodiment experiences annually at the Greening Your Creativity Retreats in Taos, NM, as well as at Isadora Duncan international symposiums and Gene Keys StarDreaming Retreats outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Leading with wit, love and enthusiasm, she has also created safe spaces for healing movement at events held at the Seton Cove Spirituality Center and at Unity Church, both in Austin, Texas. Julie can be found around her hometown of Austin teaching Creative Improvisational Movement, Tai Chi/Qigong series, somatic storytelling, and a range of classes that gently guide movers and non-movers to move in simple ways that increase joy and body pleasure.

In addition, she has volunteered at women’s prisons for nearly 20 years and currently serves with Circle Up, an Austin organization that provides evidence-based grief support groups, trauma healing classes and creative writing programs to engage and empower women living in Central Texas prisons.

Join Julie Wylie, a skilled NIA instructor, for a vibrant 15-minute sacred dance routine at the Texas Yoga Retreat’s opening ceremony. Julie will first teach the dance steps, ensuring participants feel confident and prepared. She will then lead the group through a soulful sacred dance, set to inspiring music, blending movement and mindfulness to create a joyful and connective experience. Perfect for all levels, this session will set an uplifting tone for the retreat.
