Robert Boustany

Robert Boustany, E-RYT-500, is a physicist, who has been teaching yoga for 45 years. He is known for a details understanding of the anatomy of poses, and will often give energetic, and therapeutic reasons for alignments.  Classes are taught with lighthearted interludes between focused intense work. His background is primarily Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Forrest Yoga.  Though he has studied extensively many esoteric forms of yoga, qigong etc.  His philosophic basis is Advaita Vedanta. He teaches Hatha, Ashtanga, Forrest & Pralaya Yoga.

This class will explore hips, legs and lower back in unique and powerful ways.  The class will be challenging and appropriate to all levels, with all practices having optional variations.  Maximum strength is a matter of focus, alignment, and attitude , which becomes clear as challenges peak in asana.   It is then that the inherent conditions that cause suffering can be resolved into wisdom, and we can move beyond physical practice. All levels will be challenged and practical information related that is relevant to any practice. Therapeutics will be covered in the development.

This class will take you through an exploration of arms, shoulders, neck, upper back and twisting. New processes toward freeing and developing the upper body safely for any yoga practice from the simplest through headstand, and handstand.   Everyone will benefit and learn to maximize strength by focus, alignment, and intense challenge suitable for you level.  The result is a freeing of perspective, the breath and increased energetic flows, as has been experienced by those who practice these techniques regularly. All levels will be challenged, and practical information related that is relevant to any style or practice. Therapeutics will also be touched upon in this development.
